One of my favourite all time solos which I always come back to listen to. It's got some serious passion and drive plus there's a distinct approach to it (and other GG solo's) that can be a great inspiration. Grant sticks to an approach of playing specific positions for each change which beautifully cascade down the board (lots of 'C' shape scale position a la CAGED system). You'll notice that Grant uses a distinct substitution approach here, Bb13 = F minor, Ab13 = Eb minor, Db9 = D#m arpeggio/B major scale, B9 = C#m arpeggio/A major scale etc. There's a great bluesy release to the bridge section (G#m - Amaj7 etc) which grounds the tune, gives it a resolution and home feeling before the dance starts again.
